3 Steps to your Purpose-Driven Business

The energy of the modern-day entrepreneur is as refreshing as ice-cold Perrier on a hot desert day. And we need her. Because while she seeks the financial stability and creative agency that all entrepreneurs desire, she equally values building her empire without sacrificing her personal integrity or sense of purpose.

What I just described is the cornerstone of a purpose-driven business. These are the businesses that have staying power and magnetism. They’re the ones we love to enter, support online, and seek guidance from.

 Creating or growing a business in this way isn’t rocket science. It does, however, require a level of thoughtful intention. Growing your purpose-driven business is much like building a home. Let’s break it down, shall we?!

STEP 1: Foundation

The foundation of your business is your personal mission as a human. Your mission then informs the spirit of your business vision. Without clarity around this, it’s like building a home on a giant pile of quicksand - you can throw money, resources, and all the best templates at it - but eventually the whole thing goes sideways if an intention beyond profit does not exist.

(Notice that I did not say that you ARE your business – this is an important distinction that we’ll save for a later post.)

STEP 2: Strategy

Think of your business strategy like the framing blueprint of a home. Your business objectives and their supporting action steps are what bring your business vision to life. It’s what takes the business from something you talk about creating to something that actually brings real value and impact into the world. It’s where overwhelm and shiny object syndrome are avoided and small actionable steps add up to create big growth over time.

STEP 3: Energy

The energy and mindset of the entrepreneur, similar to the aesthetic details and décor of a home, sets the tone for success and makes the business inviting and accessible. Through clear intentions and awareness of your deepest fears, building a business that you love (and that others love too) becomes one of the most rewarding and expansive experiences there is!
